Indonesian Ministry of Trade confirms ban on bulk cooking oil on January 1, 2022

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- CNBC Indonesia together with the Indonesian Vegetable Oil Industry Association (GIMNI) held a National Webinar 'Acceleration of Quality of Processed Vegetable Oils' which will thoroughly explore the efforts of the government and the private sector to achieve food security through processed vegetable oils. The Director General of Domestic Trade of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Oke Nurwan, ensured that the implementation of the prohibition on the circulation of bulk cooking oil would not be delayed from January 1, 2022, considering that the transition and socialization period had been carried out. This policy is also a mandate of the law related to the distribution of safe, healthy, halal and hygienic food as well as to provide investment certainty for the industry.
