REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is currently studying the availability of crude palm oil (CPO) as the main raw material for biodiesel 50 (B50). This step supports the government's plan to enforce the mandatory use of B50 in the second semester of 2026. “We at the Ministry of Industry have been tasked to look at the feedstock,” said Acting Director General of Agro Industry at Kemenperin, Putu Juli Ardika, during the opening of the Agro Industry Exhibition at the Kemenperin Office in Jakarta, Wednesday (29/10/2025). The evaluation results of the CPO raw material availability will be the basis for further study of the readiness to implement B50. Putu emphasized that Kemenperin is ready to follow the government's policy, including if a domestic market obligation (DMO) scheme is applied to ensure CPO supply for domestic needs.
