The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Ayacucho managed to install more than 50,000 homemade traps against the fruit fly in the provinces of Huamanga, Huanta, La Mar, Cangallo, Fajardo, Vilcas Huamán, and in targeted areas of the VRAE. This significant achievement is the result of continuous training, personalized technical assistance, and the efforts developed by the Fruit Pest Control project, in coordination with local governments, the Agrarian Health Committees, and numerous producers dedicated to the cultivation of various fruit species. The homemade traps are part of a comprehensive pest management approach that is complemented by cultural and chemical practices.
