Morocco boosts walnut imports again

The results of the four months of this year showed that Morocco is again increasing imports, according to EastFruit. Imports to the country have been growing at a rapid pace for several years, but in 2022, the supply of nuts has dropped significantly. However, this year, the volume of products imported into the country for the period from January to April indicates that the import of nuts is gaining momentum again. So, deliveries, starting from 2016, have increased annually by 45-50%, in 2020 the increase was 90%!, and by 2021, a record volume of this product was imported into the country - more than 50 thousand tons. In the ranking of world importers of nuts, Morocco is in 22nd place. Cashews, hazelnuts, pistachios and many other species are imported into the North African country. But the most popular among the Moroccan consumer are unshelled almonds and inshell walnuts.
