Morocco has emerged as a leading exporter of fresh raspberries, ranking third globally in the calendar year 2022, with a significant increase in exports over the past five seasons. The country's strategic location, favorable climatic conditions, and efficient logistics have played a key role in this growth. In the 2022/23 season, Morocco exported over 35,000 tons of fresh raspberries, showing signs of setting a new export record. The country is now the fourth largest global supplier of blueberries and the third largest exporter of raspberries, surpassing the United States. This increase in raspberry exports is supported by the expansion of plantations from Spain and other countries to Morocco and Portugal, offering cheaper labor and more favorable conditions. The supply of Moroccan raspberries lasts almost all year round, with the peak of sales abroad from November to May.
