Morocco will subsidize the cultivation of tomatoes, onions, and potatoes

Moroccan Agriculture Minister Mohamed Seddiki has announced that for the first time the government will subsidize the cultivation of tomatoes, onions and potatoes by between 50 and 70% of their value, due to the "high price" of the seeds and seed potatoes. In the House of Representatives he explained that tomato cultivation will be subsidized with between 40,000 and 70,000 dirhams (€ 3,600-6,300) per hectare, potato cultivation with between 8,000 and 15,000 dirhams (€ 720-1,300) per hectare and onion cultivation with between 4,000 and 5,000 dirhams (€360-450) per hectare.
