Almost half of all goslings hatched in Germany this year were from hatcheries in Saxony, according to the State Statistical Office. By the end of August, 419,700 goslings had hatched in the four specialized goose breeding hatcheries in the state. Lower Saxony is also a significant region for geese breeding, and although the main season for hatcheries ends in August, some animals may still be hatched in September.
