Muan County Releases 220,000 Rockfish Fingerlings to Accelerate Marine Resource Recovery

Creating a Sustainable Fishing Environment Muan County (County Mayor Kim San) released 220,000 rockfish fingerlings on the 28th in the areas of Haeje Doripo Port, Masil Port, and Unnam Dowon Port. This release was prepared to recover fish resources that have been declining due to marine environmental changes, overfishing, and high water temperatures. By intensively releasing rockfish, which have strong settlement characteristics in coastal areas, the county expects to contribute to increased income for fishermen and maintain marine ecosystem balance. Muan County has already released 6,250 eel fingerlings in inland waters, 50,000 seabass fingerlings in coastal waters, and 2.5 million shrimp seeds. It plans to release 7,000 female octopus in June.
