(Muan=Yonhap News) The Nonghyup Jeonnam Headquarters announced on the 10th that it has donated 700 million won in relief funds to support farmers who suffered significant damage from extreme rainfall this summer.
This donation is part of a 5 billion won disaster relief fund jointly prepared by the nationwide Nonghyup affiliates and staff, with 700 million won allocated to Jeonnam Province.
The funds will be used to support victims and farmers in 13 towns and townships in special disaster areas such as Damyang County, Naju City, and Hampyeong County, through the Korean Red Cross Gwangju Jeonnam Branch.
Following the donation ceremony, Nonghyup held a "Nongsimcheonsim (農心天心)" movement performance, reaffirming its commitment to achieving sustainable agriculture and rural communities.
Jeonnam Branch Manager Lee Gwang-il said, "We hope this donation will become a source of hope for the farmers affected by the heavy rains to rise again."
