The Murmansk region in Russia has started exporting live sea urchins to Kazakhstan for the first time, with an initial shipment of 28 kg. The sea urchin, known for its nutritional benefits including vitamins, fatty acids, amino acids, and minerals, is believed to help prevent diseases and remove radionuclides and heavy metal salts from the body. The region has four enterprises that have been certified for supply to EEC countries, and export to the EEC began in June. Kazakhstan has received its first batch, following purchases by Belarus.
