Between April and June of the current fiscal year, the volume of corn kernel exports significantly surpassed the monthly targets, with May's exports reaching 478,000 tons. As of mid-June, 14 cargo ships at Yangon Port were ready to offload an additional 221,330 tons, showcasing a strong demand for corn kernels on the international market. To further boost exports, Thailand has granted exemptions on tariffs for corn kernels from Myanmar until the end of August, aiming to facilitate smoother and more efficient cross-border trade. This favorable situation indicates a promising future for corn kernel exports from Myanmar, with efforts underway to ensure that export targets are met and tariff exemptions are optimally utilized.
