The export of Myanmar's Shengdelong mangoes to China has faced significant challenges due to the closure of the Muse-Ruili port, a key trade route affected by last year's conflict. This has led to increased transportation costs through the only available Daluo (Mongla) port, impacting the timely and cost-effective export of these perishable goods. To address these issues, the Mandalay Federation of Industry and Commerce of Myanmar (MRCCI) and officials from Dehong Prefecture in Yunnan Province met on April 11 to discuss enhancing mango exports to China, focusing on improving the Kengtung-Mongla-Daluo road route. The meeting aimed to find alternative export channels to ensure fruit quality and reduce costs amidst the economic challenges faced by Myanmar's mango industry, including high planting costs and market instability.
