Namibia, located in southwestern Africa, is a relatively small player in the global olive oil industry, with only 400 hectares dedicated to olive cultivation. The country ranks 50th in olive oil production and 46th in table olive production. Its olive groves are predominantly traditional and located in the Naukluft Zebra Mountains National Park, with a production yield of about 1,000 tons of olive oil and 600 tons of table olives annually. The consumption of olive oil in Namibia is largely for local use, with a preference for higher quality extra virgin olive oil. The majority of consumption takes place at home, with a growing trend towards online purchases. Olive oil is mainly consumed raw as a flavoring, and the preferred container is PET. The highest off-home consumption is in bars, restaurants, and the canning industry.
