In the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, and with the support of the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), various native communities in the Loreto region are finding new ways to generate income and improve their quality of life through the transformation of fruits. With the accompaniment of CITEproductivo Maynas and the National PAIS Program, the inhabitants, through practical training, have learned to process fruits such as cocona, papaya, and grapefruit, turning them into jams and preserves ready for the market. This learning not only allows them to avoid the loss of their harvests but also to diversify their production and make better use of their natural resources. In the native community of Bolívar, in Parinari, farmers already apply pasteurization and packaging techniques to produce safe and quality preserves.
