Nepal exports noodles and pasta worth Rs 2 billion in 11 months of current FY

KATHMANDU, July 5: Nepal has exported noodles and pasta worth more than Rs 2 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year. According to the Department of Customs, Nepal exported 723,445 kg of noodles and pasta worth Rs 2.11 billion till mid-June of the current financial year. Nepal had exported noodles worth Rs 1.66 billion during the same period last year. Compared to last year, the export of pasta and noodles has increased by 26.9 percent in the 11 months of the current fiscal year, according to the data of the Department of Customs. Pasta and noodles of Nepal are being exported especially to India. Nepal has exported 5,127,000 kg of noodles and pasta worth Rs 965 million to India alone. After India, Nepal exported 69,000 kg of noodles and pasta worth Rs 509 million to China.
