Nepal's Foreign Secretary, Bharat Raj Paudyal, has appealed to India to lift the ongoing restrictions on the export of wheat, sugar, and rice. This appeal was made during a meeting with Vinay Mohan Kwarta, India's foreign secretary, in New Delhi. The restrictions, in effect since June for sugar and wheat, and September 9 for most rice varieties, have led to supply shortages and price surges in Nepal. Additionally, the discussion covered the repletion of chemical fertilizers, boundary dispute resolutions, and the smooth flow of power trade between the two nations. The talks also encompassed various aspects of cooperation in areas such as trade, infrastructure, agriculture, and cultural exchanges.
