The Turkish government has introduced a new support scheme for farmers, designed to boost production and ensure food supply security from 2025 to 2027. This initiative aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices and encourage environmentalist approaches. It will simplify the support mechanism and provide predictable, adjustable support for all farmers registered. Additional support will be provided for strategic products and those grown in water-scarce areas, to encourage planned production and protect farmers from price instabilities. The scheme covers a range of crops, including staples like barley, wheat, and corn, and aims to increase yield, quality, and record-keeping accuracy.
