The first batch of capelin, weighing five tons, has been caught in the Barents Sea and delivered to the Murmansk seaport in Russia. The fish will be primarily sold within Russia, with some companies planning to distribute the cargo further across the country. The port is ready to operate round the clock to unload trawlers if required. Currently, ten vessels are at sea with fishing permits granted to 21 companies. The capelin quota for Russia this year is slightly over 78 thousand tons.
