In December 2025, Embrapa Tropical Agroindustry (CE) launches the cashew clone BRS 805, a cultivar initially developed for the coastal region of Ceará and similar areas. With the aim of strengthening the state's cashew industry, the largest national producer of cashew nuts, the new cultivar arrives with the proposal to offer producers higher productivity in nuts compared to the most planted cultivar ('CCP 76). The call for the acquisition of the propagules will be launched on January 12, 2026. The BRS 805 is the new bet of Brazilian agricultural research to confer greater sustainability to the business, increasing genetic variability in orchards and minimizing vulnerability to climatic and phytosanitary problems.
