The Central Veterinary Laboratory of Algete has confirmed that 5 wild birds in Catalonia have tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1. The Generalitat of Catalonia has implemented measures to prevent the spread of the virus, including prohibiting the use of certain bird species as hunting lures and maintaining outdoor poultry. They have also requested increased surveillance and prompt removal of infected birds to prevent the spread of the disease.
