The new pelagic trawler on its way to the Netherlands from its Turkish builder is the latest vessel in the P&P fleet to carry the Annie Hillina name – initially given to the company’s first pelagic freezer vessel in 1976. Approaching the end of its delivery trip following the handover to its owners, the new Annie Hillina KW-170 is the outcome of the longstanding partnership between Norwegian designer Skipsteknisk and the Tersan Shipyard in Turkey. This pairing has already delivered 82-metre factory trawlers Kirkella and Mark to the P&P Group in 2015, followed by the 88-metre Jan Maria in 2024. As a dedicated pelagic trawler, the 111.20-metre, 21.20-metre breadth Annie Hillina is designed to operate relatively close to home in the North Atlantic, as well as having options for activity in distant waters such as the South Atlantic and South Pacific.
