The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) has praised the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock's authorization of new animal protein plants for exports to South Africa, including fourteen poultry and five pork processing plants. This comes as South Africa is the fifth largest destination for Brazilian chicken meat exports, with 276.5 thousand tons imported between January and October, generating revenue of US$ 154 million. These new authorizations are expected to have positive impacts for both chicken meat and pork exports, strengthening partnerships and aiding in food security in South Africa.
