The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) has expressed satisfaction with the Ministry of Agriculture's decision to accredit thirteen poultry and five pork slaughterhouses for exports to South Africa. These plants are now eligible to export to a market that has been a traditional partner of Brazil for over two decades, with significant demand for products for processing. South Africa is the fifth largest importer of chicken meat from Brazil, with 276.5 thousand tons imported between January and October of this year, generating revenue of US$ 154 million. ABPA believes that this accreditation will have a positive impact not only on chicken meat but also on pork exports, contributing to strengthening partnerships and helping South Africa with its food security issues.
