A recent report by Birnie Consultancy, focusing on EU markets such as Ireland, Germany, Poland, France, and the Netherlands, evaluated farmgate production standards in England. The report revealed that the Red Tractor scheme in England achieved a higher overall score compared to other schemes. However, the Netherlands' Beter Leven excelled in husbandry procedures and youngstock management, while Germany’s Quality System scheme led in livestock transport, food safety, and traceability. The findings aim to enhance transparency and bolster the reputation of the English beef and lamb sector, with additional reports on North and South America anticipated later this year.
