Madre de Dios takes a key step towards strengthening its main product of the Amazonian bioeconomy: the chestnut. With more than a million hectares in active concessions and more than 15,000 people dedicated to this activity, the chestnut not only generates employment and income for thousands of families, but also contributes to the conservation of the forest and the fight against climate change. Currently, its exports exceed $35 million annually, consolidating it as a symbol of the productive and sustainable potential of the Peruvian Amazon. In this context, the Roadmap for the Amazonian Chestnut to 2030 was presented, a document that marks the path for a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive transformation of the sector.
