A new regulation, GB44917-2024, has been implemented in China from February 1, 2025, by the Bureau of Import and Export Food Safety to ensure the hygienic transportation of bulk edible oils. The regulation lays down guidelines for the maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of containers, and also outlines conditions for documentation, transportation, and unloading procedures. This step is taken in response to concerns about tanker trucks being used for transporting food products and chemical liquids without proper cleaning. The conference to discuss the future of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be held on February 13 – 14 in Prague.
