Netherlands: New subsidy scheme for wolf grids in Gelderland

The subsidy is intended as a contribution to the costs of taking preventive measures in the form of wolf-resistant grids. The maximum subsidy amount per individual application is 20,000 euros. The subsidy is for the protection of outdoor cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys, ponies, llamas, alpacas, fallow deer and red deer. Livestock farmers who made investments for a wolf-resistant fence before the opening of the scheme on April 11, and were not eligible for a scheme at that time, can submit these retroactively. It is now also possible to apply for a subsidy prior to purchasing wolf-resistant measures. The measures must be implemented within 3 months. A wolf-resistant screen must meet certain conditions on which agreements have been made.
