King salmon production in New Zealand is expected to be higher this year due to a decrease in salmon catches and an increase in aquaculture production. The decline in catches is attributed to high water temperatures caused by a marine heatwave last summer. To counter this, king salmon farms are focusing on aquaculture in a low-temperature environment, leading to increased production. New Zealand's King Salmon Company has raised its profit indicators, with the Ruakaka farm expanding to produce 750 tons of king salmon annually, up from 500 tons.
