Nghi Xuan farmers in Vietnam gather in the fields to sow peanuts in autumn and winter

These days, farmers in many localities in Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh) are focusing on planting peanuts in the autumn-winter crop in 2022. Taking advantage of favorable weather, Mr. Tran Van Thuong in Phuc Tuy village, Xuan Vien commune is concentrating his manpower in the fields to sow peanuts. Mr. Thuong said: “This year my family planted 4 poles of peanuts in the autumn and winter. Although this crop is more difficult to care for than the spring peanut crop due to weather, rats, and pests, the harvested source will be a quality seed for the spring peanut crop.” In the autumn-winter crop of 2022, Nghi Xuan district has 30ha of peanuts (20ha in 2021), concentrated in the following localities: Xuan My, Xuan Vien, Xuan Thanh, Xuan Pho, Co Dam, Xuan Yen, Xuan Hai.
