According to a report from the United States Department of Agriculture, Nigeria is expected to see a 42 percent increase in wheat production between July 2023 and 2024. This is due to a competitive guaranteed price agreed upon by farmers and millers, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the Flour Millers Association of Nigeria and the Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria to purchase wheat at a competitive price. The report also highlighted challenges such as security issues, high production costs, and weak financial support that could affect wheat production in the country.
