(Nonsan=Yonhap News) ▲ First Harvest of Joyberry = Nonsan City in South Chungcheong announced on the 31st that it has begun shipping its first harvest of the new strawberry variety 'Joyberry'.
Joyberry is a new variety developed by the Strawberry Research Institute of the South Chungcheong Agricultural Technology Institute and registered last year, characterized by its large size and firm flesh.
The Nonsan Agricultural Technology Center disseminated technology to Joyberry-growing farms to advance the formation of strawberry flower buds, thereby advancing the harvest period by about two weeks, and it is expected that the harvest period will also increase.
A city official explained, "Joyberry is a new variety that solves the issues of cultivation stability and size that occur when harvested early" and "It has excellent economic value as it can be shipped quickly and thus secure the winter fruit market."
▲ Land Boundary Resetting through Village Road Land Project = Nonsan City announced on the 31st that it has reset the land boundaries of 214 plots (approximately 153,000 square meters) in the Yeonmu Jukbon District, Gwangseok Wangjeon District, and Eunjin Simyoji District through the Village Road Land Project.
The city conducted on-site surveys, resident briefings, and owner consultations for landowners whose private land had roads built during rural development, and notified the landowners of the newly set land boundaries.
After a 60-day objection period, the new boundaries will be finalized and new land numbers will be assigned.

Gwangseok Onmaru, built as the first step in the Gwangseok-myeon Basic Living Core Creation Project, was constructed to provide child care, after-school learning, and resident rest areas.
Following the completion of Gwangseok Onmaru, the city plans to actively pursue the second phase of the Basic Living Core Project starting next year and continue to support resident-led program operations.
