North Chungcheong Province Releases Eel Fry

The Chungbuk Province Inland Water Industry Research Institute announced on the 13th that it released 6,000 young eels, which are the most popular fish species in terms of taste and value among inland water fish, into the Daecheongho Reservoir near Gyogyo-ri, Honam-myeon, Boeun-gun. The released eels were hatched in the deep Pacific Ocean, captured (around 5cm) while ascending rivers, purchased by the research institute, and raised to over 10cm in size after 39 days of cultivation. They are healthy young eels that have undergone aquatic animal disease and genetic testing. The Southern Inland Water Support Division has been sequentially releasing approximately 54,000 young eels into the Geumgang water system in Cheongju, Boeun, and Okcheon areas adjacent to Daecheongho since 2019, and this year is releasing young eels into the Daecheongho Reservoir in Boeun-gun.
