North Ossetia completes winter crop sowing in Russia

Farms in North Ossetia are completing the sowing of winter crops for the 2025 harvest, the regional Ministry of Agriculture press service told Interfax. Winter grain crops will be sown on an area of 50 thousand hectares, of which 45.8 thousand hectares have already been sown. Thus, the region has already sown 91.6% of the area, with 8.4% remaining. "Traditionally, the main areas of winter crops are wheat - 30 thousand 288 thousand hectares have been sown. Winter barley occupies 3 thousand 515 hectares, winter rape - 12 thousand 67 hectares. This year, the area under winter triticale has been increased to 325 hectares, which is 1.6 times more than last year's figure (200 hectares)," the press service said.
