In the first quarter, Norway experienced strong growth in seafood exports, with Ukraine, the United States, and Thailand being the largest markets by volume. However, Poland saw the most significant increase in value, with a 139% rise to 1,770 tonnes, valued at NOK 84 million, up 142% from the previous year. This increase is attributed to the lower prices of trout compared to salmon in the first quarter, making it a more attractive option for the Polish processing industry. In March alone, Norway exported 6,100 tonnes of trout, valued at NOK 551 million, marking a 17% increase in value and a 31% increase in volume year-on-year.
