With 245 kilos of fresh peonies, Chile completed its first flower shipment to Brazil. The export, finalized during the fortnight of October, was valued at approximately US$10.9 thousand FOB, equivalent to $10.3 million, an operation made possible after the sanitary opening obtained in May. Thus, the Brazilian market joins other destinations of Chilean flowers such as the United States and the Netherlands. Only for this species, and according to government data, between January and September, US$3.4 million FOB have been exported, a 33% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. The U.S. and the Netherlands concentrated almost 100% of the exported value (99.8%).
