Buffalo farming has been a tradition in the Karaoğlan Neighborhood, located by Lake Uluabat, for centuries. The buffalo are raised for their meat, milk, and yogurt, which are sold nationwide. The animals are grazed in pastures around the lake from spring to autumn and cool off in wetlands during hot summers. Mehmet Kızıl and Hüseyin Kırmızı, residents of the neighborhood, emphasize the importance of water in buffalo farming and consider it a national treasure. They are working to pass the trade down to future generations.
