Nothing justifies an increase in the tortilla; the price of corn, at the lowest levels: Sheinbaum

Mexico City. Facing the intention of some sectors to increase the price of tortilla, President Claudia Sheinbaum argued that there is no reason to justify this increase if currently the price of corn is at the lowest levels in many years. She said that this week they will meet with the sectors participating in the Package against Inflation and Dearth (Pacic) to review the situation of the prices of basic products because the intention is to do everything possible to confront inflation. She highlighted that there is a significant disparity in prices because while the kilo of tomato in ISSSTE stores is 20 pesos, in Walmart it is close to 80 pesos. Therefore, she insisted, "we are going to do everything necessary so that there is no inflation."
