I. Basic facts of the incident Upon verification, the "free cabbage" plot mentioned in the viral video was leased by a local villager, Mr. Sun, on April 7 of this year, covering an area of 485.9 mu, with a lease term of one year. After obtaining the land lease rights, Mr. Sun subleased 190 mu of the land to Mr. Li, Mr. Zhao, Mr. Lian, and Mr. Wang at the original price. Among these, Mr. Sun planted corn on 105.9 mu, and the remaining 380 mu were planted with two crops (190 mu by Mr. Sun, 80 mu by Mr. Zhao, 70 mu jointly by Mr. Li and Mr. Lian, and 40 mu by Mr. Wang). The first crop was watermelon, and the second crop was cabbage, which began to be sold in October.
