The Department of Agricultural Extension in Thailand is implementing activities to boost the production efficiency of farmers and increase income equality by encouraging them to upgrade to quality and value-added agricultural products, with a focus on raising economic insects. These insects, including bees and edible insects like crickets, have both direct and indirect benefits for plant pollination and production, and can be processed into various products for consumption. Thailand's hot and humid climate and diverse food plant sources provide potential for raising economic insects, and the activities will also establish networks between farmers, entrepreneurs, and officials to enhance the competitiveness of Thai economic insects in the international market.
