Oat exports from Russia increased by 67%

From the beginning of the year to March 10, the volume of oat exports from Russia increased by 67% to 128 thousand tons compared to 72 thousand tons in the same period last year. The director of the analytical department of the Russian Grain Union (RGU), Elena Tyurina, told Agroinvestor about this. The main volume of supplies fell to China - shipments there increased by 65% to 98 thousand tons, the second buyer was Israel, which last season did not purchase oats in our country, but this season imported 15.6 thousand tons. According to Tyurina, since 2017, the gross harvest of this agricultural crop in the country has decreased by 2.2 million tons. General Director of the analytical company ProZerno, Vladimir Petrichenko, clarifies that in 2023, the area under oats decreased to 1.8 million hectares (-14.6 % compared to the previous year), which is the lowest figure since 1990.
