The sales of olive oil have seen a significant decrease of 16.8% in the 2023/2024 campaign, with the 'mild' and 'intense' categories experiencing the highest drop. On the other hand, sales of sunflower oil surged by 30.4%. Among the types of olive oil, extra virgin saw a decrease of 14.79%. Despite the decline, it remains the most demanded category. The sales of other vegetable oils also increased, totaling 651.3 million liters, marking a 1.26% increase from the previous campaign. The industry association, Anierac, views this as a sign of a solid recovery for the sector.
