In the 2021/22 campaign, Spain experienced a slight decrease in olive oil exports but a substantial 25% increase in the value of foreign sales, which reached around 4,000 million euros. This was largely due to a 27% rise in the average export price. The price of exported oil also hit a high of 399 euros/100 kilos in September. The destination with the highest volume of exports was Italy, followed by the United States, China, and South Korea, while shipments to Portugal and France saw a decrease. The campaign also saw a notable increase in olive oil imports, both in volume and value, due to the increased price.
