The European Union is entering a crucial phase of budget planning for the period 2028–2034, with the potential unification of funds for agriculture and regional development becoming increasingly realistic. Against the backdrop of ongoing negotiations between the institutions, the reform project of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen risks triggering a new mass farmer protest in Brussels. A draft document prepared by the member states and dated November 20 shows a willingness to accept the Commission's proposal to unify the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and cohesion policy into a single financial mechanism.
