In the first four months of this year, the cost of chicken production remained stable, fluctuating only 1% around the average. However, in May, the cost rose to R$4.42 per kilogram, the highest in 11 months, due to increases in feed (4.2%), genetics (3%), and inputs like electricity and heating (over 9%). Despite this rise, the average cost for the first five months of 2024 was R$4.35/kg, marking a 15.41% decrease compared to the same period last year.
