Onion/Cepea: Imported volume increases, including better quality bulbs

In the Rio Grande do Sul port of Porto Xavier (RS), the entry of foreign onions increased during this week (19 to 23/02). Hortifruti/Cepea employees reported that the quality of onions coming from Argentina is already much higher than the first loads that arrived in the country, presenting an ideal commercial standard and with high prices (reaching R$ 95.00/sc of 20 kg). Furthermore, this week, Chile also sent bulbs to Brazil, even with higher quality than those from Argentina and with higher prices, with negotiations in the region of R$ 100.00/sc for 20 kg of red onions.
