The Brazilian government is pleased with Chile's decision to allow Brazil to export edible offal from birds, ruminants, and pigs, maximizing the use of slaughtered animals and generating additional revenue. This follows Chile's authorization of several other Brazilian imports last year, leading to a 6.5% increase in agricultural exports from Brazil to Chile between 2022 and 2023. The meat sector accounts for half of the exports in the first five months of this year. Since 2023, Brazil has opened 152 new markets in 52 countries, with the effort backed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
