The Brazilian government announced South Korea's decision to accept the International Health Certificate (CSI) for the export of processed pork fat and proteins from Brazil for animal feed, marking the third market expansion for Brazilian agricultural products in South Korea this year. The first two openings allowed for the export of animal by-products and ten types of shrimp-based products. This move is anticipated by the Brazilian Animal Recycling Association (ABRA) and Korean importers, aiming to support the growth of the Korean feed industry and the increase in domestic animals in Asia. In 2023, South Korea ranked as the eighth largest destination for Brazilian agricultural exports, with a total value of over US$3.37 billion. Since the beginning of last year, Brazilian agribusiness has experienced 145 commercial expansions in 51 countries, with 67 new markets having been opened in 29 countries in 2024. This success is attributed to the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
