Brazilian orange juice exports saw a significant decrease in the first half of the 2020/21 harvest, with a 23.5% drop compared to the same period in the previous harvest. The total export volume was 497,490 tons, and the revenue reached $680.029 million, a 35.9% decrease from the previous period. The high production of juice in the harvest and the need to replenish product stocks were the primary reasons for this decline. Europe remained the dominant market for Brazilian exports, holding a 65.94% share, followed by the United States, Japan, China, and Australia. Exports to all these countries experienced a decrease in both volume and revenue. This decline is attributed to the bienniality of citrus production, where years with larger harvests lead to increased exports. However, it does not necessarily indicate a trend of lower exports in the future.
