Organic Agriculture Agreement between Chile and the European Union will remain unchanged

The Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) reported that the Equivalence and Reciprocity Agreement in Organic Trade between Chile and the European Union will remain in force. The decision was ratified in the Joint Committee with the European Union, represented by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DGAGRI). Given the new regulations of Regulation (EU) 2018/848, the SAG Organic Agriculture Department is carrying out a comparative evaluation between the European and Chilean regulations. The purpose of this evaluation is to identify possible discrepancies and determine how changes can be proposed to maintain the integrity of the certification system and guarantee confidence in the national market, aspects that to date have been rigorously maintained.
