Magaly Torres, who grows cape gooseberries in a rural area of the Linares municipality, says that for cape gooseberries and other crops, including coffee, they use pig residues that significantly improve productivity and generate a better quality of the final product. For her part, in the municipality of Puerres, Carmen Rubiela Chamorro, also a cape gooseberry producer and member of another association of farmers in the area, pointed out that with the residues from the plantations they produce an organic fertilizer that serves to strengthen the same crops.
